New Age Music is a wide-ranging music genre which incorporates many other genres including ambient music, chillout music, atmospheric music, world music, jazz, classical and electronic music (amongst others). Originally coined in the 1960's to describe the emerging sounds from the US and around the world, New Age Music is now a widely established and respected musical genre in its own right and has become a musical home to some of the great composers of our time such as Vangelis, Mike Oldfield and Jean Michel Jarre.
